On Sunday at approximately 4:17 pm the Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Gorham.A 2010 Hyundai operated by James J. McCormick, age 49 of Canandaigua, was traveling southbound on State Route 364. Two people, Amy Lyn Jones, age 41 of Canandaigua, and Robert B. Wallace, age 41 of Chadwicks, were riding bicycles traveling southbound on the shoulder of Route 364. McCormick struck both bicyclists with his vehicle. Further investigation revealed that McCormick was driving while intoxicated and he was arrested for DWI and arraigned in the Hopewell Town Court for aggravated vehicular assault, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of no bail as he has two prior felony convictions.Jones suffered substantial injuries including a broken neck. She was transported to Strong Memorial where she remains. Wallace suffered minor injuries and was treated at Thompson Hospital then later released.
